Once a host with some friends were waiting for guests from far away. He was told that they ought to arrive in about 15 minutes. Meanwhile his friends said to him, we know you’re in love. Tell us more.
Before that, in a separate discussion recently with people from Western and Westernised societies, that includes KL, a point was made about how people have come to not just narrowly understand the meaning of love but have come to not be able to know how to love, somewhat handicapped. Try paying attention to the things/words connected to whenever love is mentioned, and not mentioned.
Anyway, they said, tell us more.
So he started talking. Telling stories. Elaborating. Smiling. Teary. And so forth.
Then he asked, where are the guests? Are they here?
‘Mmm. Actually it seems they’re unable to make it… You’ve been speaking about love for three hours now by the way…’
The man in love is known as Habib Omar Bin-Hafidh, the scholar.
The one he is in love with is known as Muhammad, the Most Beloved by God.

Pic: sent to me from an event organized in KL recently. They serve a full meal to any 20 people present at the venue, for only 15 minutes, once a month. Unfortunately, I wasn’t. Point is, it’s a pic of a cake. I love cake.
