This is Zerbaadi. It’s often a dance you’ll see before the party gets started proper. It’s best to see older men doing this as I see it more of a gentlemens dance that is rather elegant and very in control, which most younger guys can’t do well. This recording is short and poorly done unfortunately.
It was at one of the celebration ceremonies for the wedding of one of the main servants of the Mufti. He’s Indonesian and for this evening he invited largely us Indonesian and Malaysian students. It was hosted at my headmaster’s (seated in green) house, who is younger brother to the Mufti.
