Perhaps because in order to be developed, we had to follow the underlying need to only do things out of self-interest given the capitalist systems we exist in. Hence it is perceived as if we do not have time to invest in each other in our communities. But of course, ultimately, it’s about the choices we make isn’t it.
To the eyes of common worldly folks, this may seem backwards and poor. If only they can see from experience and heart, that Tarim and its people are far more ‘privileged’…
