I mentioned some months ago that the school has a new policy whereby exams dates are no longer announced, even to teachers. Class begins and if an officer comes with the sheets, then it’s exam time.

This is the link to that post. Important to read for context.

When this new year started, another change took place which favoured the students. Instead of studying up to 12 books per semester, we’d do a maximum of five at a time, albeit progressing at a much quicker pace. And instead of two, there will be three semesters in a year.

Last year for my class, days after the last paper for the second mid term exam, we sat for for the first paper of the final year exam. Unannounced. We spent more time looking at one another than we did at the answer sheet.

Facial expression: goats in Hajj season.

Pic: ten days ago, was our first mid term exam. Today, was the second mid term exam for the same paper. Occasionally when space is lacking in the mosque and classrooms, the outdoor courtyard is used. FYI, the windows on the first floor on the right, that’s lit up, is Habib Omar’s office.
