We have been sleeping on the roof.
It’s not uncommon here. And the reasons vary. However it’s not to be confused as a permanent sleeping place. Most of the time, people are in bedrooms.
Here’s the view at dawn. We’re close to the end of the valley, at this new apartment we just moved into a few days ago just ten blocks from the old one on the same street.
My advise to those moving to #Tareem whenever, 1 stay in a mudbrick house and not cement. 2 if you’re going to enrol in a school, stay within walking distance. 3 decide on the specficitiations of the house based on your behaviour – get more rooms if you actually use them, if not, don’t. 4 quickly know tour neighbours especially local ones, the mosque indeed is a community centre. 5 separate your food waste from your other waste, goats, chickens, cats and dogs appreciate it.
