Habib Omar on gold and silver.
I was told by a top student who became a teacher beloved by many, despite Fiqh (law) being available back home, you must study it here in Tareem. It is taught differently.
Zakat, is one of the most intensely boring chapters for me despite my love for calculations. Technical, dry and past the head. But here is one of many, many experiences I’ve had of tasting the mojo, not just when learning Zakat or law, not just Islam but of life.
The chapter is still Zakat, subject is still law, taught before sunrise.. But here is a lesson from those who truly understand what the Prophet (pbuh) has conveyed, and relayed generation after generation, until now.
It is common that when conveying something strong, harsh, intense, the teachers may smile regularly. Some say to manage their own emotions. Some say to soften the blow for the listeners. I heard this lesson live on the radio, but I imagined he was smiling throughout as he always did. Anyhow here goes..
‘Zakat is also upon gold and silver that a person has.
