‘In Tareem during Ramadhan, if you go out on the streets at 8am to find someone to slap your face, you won’t get it.’
The photo shows you one of many timetables I’ve seen informing people of the times that mosques in here conduct their Terawih prayers. Almost all take the same amount of time to do it, just that they have different beginning times.
Some may begin shortly after the azan of Isya’. Some begin very late, just in time for people to go home afterwards to make it for sahur. Others take place anytime in between these two.
This means:
1. Some people, by that I mean plenty, perform terawih more than once a night. Many do it twice, some thrice and there are a few that do it five times. Daily. They hop from mosque to mosque.
2. Often we hear that you’re not meant to sleep during the day if you’re fasting. This is true and often heard by many of us around the world. But that does not quite apply, if you’re up all night dedicating yourself to Him.
Therefore the town comes very lively at night for Ramadhan, goes to sleep from dawn till the afternoon, generally speaking.
Go elsewhere if you’re looking for an 8am slap.
